“Long Goodbye” is the story of Avery and Matthew. Two aimless, Brooklyn transplants both trying to find meaning in their lives. They begin finding comfort in a fantasy relationship with one another that doesn’t really exist. Avery and Matthew, too deep in their delusion to talk to one another, they both struggle to find relationships with other people, only to find that reality can’t overcome the fantasy. This is a modern coming of age story about two people learning how to grow up, long after adulthood.
